Fall Carnival

2017 Fall Carnival

When: Friday October 20, 2017
Where: Mission Avenue Elementary
What:  The Fall Carnival is a Mission Avenue family favorite! Several returning favorites and new activities include: 

  • lots of fun games - soda ring toss, cake walk, prize fishing, sponge face (toss a wet sponge at a teacher), ring toss, pencil in the hay, and more
  • balloon animals
  • face painting by the Facepainterina
  • a picture booth with a fall background
  • popular music
  • trick-or-treat hallway
  • delicious food
  • costume contest with prizes for best and funniest costumes for each grade level. Note, this is a family event, do not wear scary, bloody, violent-looking, or sexy costumes as you may be asked to remove the costume or leave the event.
  • silent auction of arts, crafts & business products/services from the community. Thank you to those who mentioned they will be donating items. See below for more information in the Donations section. 


To help make the Fall Carnival a success, we need your help. We are asking for donations of the following items. If you would like to volunteer scroll down a bit.

  • small or large bottles of soda, punch, or juice for the soda ring toss game
  • store bought cupcakes for the cupcake walk
  • cases of 17 ounce bottles of water. .
  • bags of store bought individually wrapped candy for the trick-or-treat doors
  • silent auction items (see below)

Sign up to donate an item by clicking here (scroll to the bottom of the page to see donation items) and see who is donating already. Sign up to bring a donation by checking the “Sign Up” box to the right of the donation you are interested in helping with, click the “Submit and Sign Up” button at the bottom of the page, and then complete the information on the subsequent page. Thank you!

Help Wanted

Volunteers are wanted to help in a variety of ways. If you would like to volunteer or know a group of people (high school students, church groups, or social clubs who like to help) for any of these carnival activities, sign up to volunteer by clicking here. Thank you!

Silent Auction

We are looking for arts, crafts, and business products/services for the Fall Carnival silent auction. All proceeds of the silent auction will go to the Mission Avenue Elementary PTA to assist in the support of educational programs, field trips, and family activities. When you drop your silent auction item off in the Library/Media Center by between Oct. 17 - Oct. 20, please complete Silent Auction form for your item (provide your name, phone number, suggested starting bid, and bid increments.  Click here to sign up for your interest in providing a silent auction item.

  • Please provide the name of the individual or company and a company website (if applicable) providing the item, we will publicly thank them on our Thank You page, on our Facebook page, and in our Newsletter.
  • If your business is donating an intangible service like a carpet cleaning, please provide a typed certificate or coupon with the following information: company logo, company website, the details of the service, the dollar value of the service, contact information, and information for how the winning bidder can claim the service, This is so we have something tangible to place on the table for people to bid.

Ticket Sales

Carnival activities range from 1 - 3 tickets and food ranges from 4 - 26 tickets.

Pre-sale of tickets will take place October 17 - 21. Pre-sale tickets price: $1.00 for 5 tickets or $5.00 for 25 tickets 

Presales are scheduled as follows:

  • Monday, Oct 17, 2016 from 1:45 - 2:15pm.
  • Tuesday, Oct 18, 2016 from 7:30-8:00am & 1:45 - 2:15pm
  • Wednesday, Oct 19, 2016 from 7:30-8:00am & 1:45 - 2:15pm
  • Thursday, Oct 20, 2016 from 7:30-8:00am & 1:45 - 2:15pm
  • Friday, Oct 21, 2016 from 7:30-8:00pm 

After the pre-sale ends at 8:00am on Friday, October 30, 2015, tickets will sell for $1.00 for 4 tickets or $5.00 for 20 tickets.

On the night of October 30, from 6:00 - 8:30pm only, students can exchange one Thunderbuck for 4 tickets or two Thunderbucks for 8 tickets. No more than two Thunderbucks will be accepted per student. Students will not be able to exchange Thunderbucks during presale times.
